Modern education system often expects us to mug up textual information. As a students we all have done and experienced this during our school and college days. In the process, however, we forget one important thing - Textual information is nowhere found in nature! This is an extremely important point that one needs to understand. Yoga Tips for making true friends |
It is said that to have a good friend is one of the highest delights of life. Unfortunately very few people know how to make good friends. They are either too casual about making friends or accept whoever comes their way as friend. It is important for a Yoga practitioner, who is following the path of Yoga for spiritual benefits, to make friends very carefully. You may wonder why this is necessary. Any form or style of Yoga finally deals with mind and its texture. To improve the texture of your mind you need to carefully watch for all sorts of samskras or subtle impressions being plastered on it. Friends are the people who influence your life deeply at subtle as well as gross levels. They are the people with whom you tend to have regular interactions, chit chats, meet ups and at times even fights. When you choose friends carefully you are basically choosing to be in a good company. Interaction with good people helps you maintain satvik state of mind and is thus conductive to overall Yoga practice. |

Practitioners of meditation often find it difficult to focus their mind during meditation session. An important aspect often ignored by such practitioners of meditation is that though meditation is an activity done for relatively small part of the whole day, its quality is largely affected by how you spent the remaining day. The first step in learning meditation is to learn to live in the present. Living in the present implies that you don't get entangled in arbitrary thinking. You should instead focus on the present activity. |

Simplify your life as you walk the path of Yoga |
First step towards detachment is - simple living. By simple living it is meant to get rid of things that are not absolutely essential for one's life. By eliminating clutter from your life you are essentially reducing your dependency on other things. You are learning to live a happy life with bare minimum necessities. You are learning to do things you love the most rather than weighing them in terms of money. Modern lifestyle, however luxurious it may sound at first look, adds to the complexity, stress and chaos of life. One desire fuels another and this cycle keeps on repeating endlessly. |

Purpose of Hatha Yoga |
There are many misconceptions about Hatha Yoga. Many believe that a Hathayogi is attached to his body excessively.
