Preparatory Practices for Nadashravana Kriya
Om Chanting
- Sit comfortably in any meditative posture
- Close your eyes
- Start chanting Om loudly
- Chanting should be done in steady voice
- As you chant feel the vibrations of Om
- They arise from navel and fill the whole body progressively (especially
the vibrations of mmmmm... produce a great feeling)
- Keep chanting for 5 minutes initially gradually increasing the time to
15 minutes
Nadashravana Basic Practice
Nadashravana Kriya puts strain on your hands. This preparatory practice can
be used in initial stages:
- Sit in a chair in front of a table
- Place your elbows on the table
- Place your palms firmly on the ears
- Try listening to the humming sound produced
- If you are unable to hear any sound you can chant Om and focus on that
sound instead
- Do this practice for 10 minutes or so
